In the Words of Buddha

About

This website is dedicated to the preservation of the Buddha’s teachings in the modern world.

Given a heightened global interest in Buddhism as a religion, spiritual practice, and philosophy, it has become increasingly necessary to present the teachings of the Buddha in a manner that is both accurate and clear to readers.

In order to achieve this end, the means must match the aspiration. Therefore, extensive cross-examination of Pali and Sanskrit sources is undertaken in order to clarify the original meaning of various texts. As such, words will often be rendered in romanized script with diacritics (i.e., Pāḷi and Saṃskṛtam) for the purpose of greater authenticity.

Ultimately, the intention is to make the authentic teachings of the Buddha increasingly accessible to the modern world, for deeper understanding of the Buddhist path.
